Well done to our Junior C's who have now been crowned Chmapions of Division 3B.
Only a few seasons ago this club struggled to field 2 Junior Teams we now have implemented a 3rd team with numbers growing fast.
Big credit to Dom Macken who brought through many youths into the C team set up and developed them over 3 years into a youthful attacking team who has taken on teams in higher divisions and caused problems and even made it further. This team is very special having lost very few games all season.
With the league gone down to the final day, a draw would see a 3 way play off, a win for either side would see their name engraved on the trophy.
With Corbally taking an early lead we questioned "Are we destined for this", however nothing is this easy with a spirited Lough Derg side they fought back and found their way into the game creating multiple chances and eventually one pass split our defence and they converted it.
With the weather taking over and the clouds coming across we settled for a 1-1 at the break. With the second half kicking off we started the brighter pushing up the pitch, eventually the ball broke loose and after a strike towards goal it hit a Lough Derg hand adn the referee pointed to the spot for 3B Player of the year Nathaniel Zabetakis to convert from the spot and once again the trophy was in our hands.
Later in the match we received a freekick and it miraculously found its way into the back of the net to put the Super Blues 3-1 up with one hand on the title.
Holding out, pulling out all the tricks in the book Lough Derg failed to fight back and we were crowned Division 3B Champions 23/24
